We stopped by the Folk Museum at Hnjótur on our way out from Breidavik. We were too early to get inside, but they had some interesting items outside.
U.S. Navy plane built in 1944 eventually in Iceland as a transport plane in the 1970's.
Not sure of the significance of the 2 boats outside the museum. But they may have been following the same GPS instructions we were.
The sculptured and markers memorialize sailors who died when their ship was grounded or lost in nearby waters.
