Signs Along the Way

I We have been fascinated by the signage in Iceland.

Leaving town.  Sometimes it is not obvious that there was a town.

Narrow bridge.  Most bridges are 1 lane.

Blind hill.  Lots of these on the roads that snake through the Westfjords.

Dead end

A sign we don't understand

Sort of like the signs for the Appellacian Trail, but for western Iceland.

We think this names a part of the Dynjandi waterfalls in the Westfjords.

In the Westfjords, houses are widely scattered and instead of a street address, they have a name.  This is the name of a farm down the road from the Guesthouse Kirkjubol in Bjarnardalur.

Signs showing the amenities at the Guesthouse Kirkjubol in Bjarnardalur.  Love the @ symbol indicating wireless internet access.  It was great at Guesthouse Kirkjubol, but in some of the places we staid, it was only accessible from the dining area.

Better watch out!

Trucks entering.
